Kahsia Hartwell is currently shooting with the Canon 80D, 18-135 mm Canon lens, 100mm Canon, 100-400 telephoto lens. Her interests are in landscape, macro, night, street & lighting. Visit her website at Moon Mountain Photography
Though unpublished for the first decades of her photographic career, Kahsia’s life in Northern New Mexico (much of that time as a successful organic farmer) and worldwide traveller honed her appreciation for the moment. In 2011, Kahsia and her husband settled in Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. Recently, the rest of her life slowed down enough so Kahsia could spend more time behind the lens and she committed to publishing a photograph every day. That goal helped marry her love of photography with the creative possibilities/capabilities of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Kahsia was also encouraged to further refine her art after sharing it on social media. With some trepidation, Kahsia formally launched her photographic professional career in 2016. Now she enjoys a deep focus on both the technical and artistic side of photography that her images have taken a leap forward. She works with still life in her light box studio, pursues zoom bursts in the forests & cities, and doggedly pursues the neighbourhood eagles for “another great shot”. Somehow Kahsia also finds herself in Antarctica, Southeast Asia and beyond - camera in hand for the next priceless image. Kahsia shows her art via Salt Spring Eclectic Visions and juried shows on Vancouver Island. See “Perched” at the Sooke Fine Arts Show 2018. Upcoming shows for 2019 are Eclectic Visions, Artcraft and the Salt Spring Public Library. All in the month of June.
